finally some spring

It feels like we have had nothing but rain around here, or from what I hear most of Ontario. I have been so plagued with the rain I forgot about how much I hated the snow that just left. I can't wait to complain about the heat! :)

I took a walk through my gardens yesterday and have so many plants starting up. A lot of my perennial flowers are up and blooming and my other plants are showing signs of small buds and growth. I ripped up a few gardens last fall and cleared out a few others, so it is fun to see what still lives in those beds. All the work of past few years on the back gardens has come to a hault. The 8 gardens and pathways that were put in are being dug up for a remodel. 3 gardens will survive the remodel and stay mostly as they are, 5 will be totally revamped if not taken out completely. The entire deck is also being ripped out, including a new area for the hot tub. This all started when the pool was taken down last fall. It had seen better days and they were probably 25 years ago. The sand pit left behind is not a desirable site and the rotting decking is becoming a hazard. Finally all the paths I started throughout the gardens are not user friendly. I picked a bad material and have suffered for 2 years in a poor decision.

I am desperate for a backyard design show to find me in a home store and offer to come back to my home and do this for me. Unfortunately I believe I may be on the business end of a shovel for a good part of the summer.

Well, we had one sunny day and now it's back to rain. I swear that I have SAD right now.

Sounds like you are going to be very busy this summer, but at least you'll get a lot of exercise out of it.

This post is more reason why I am probably never going to live in a house again. I don't do yardwork. It messes with one's manicures.
