Deck Revamp III

So far the deck seems to be going SLOW! I always have high hopes for projects like this and then seem to think they are going well because the demo goes so quickly, but then the rebuild always slows the whole ordeal. The weather has also been a battle in progress. If it is not rain, then it is high winds, and if not those two, then it is actually nice out and no one wants to waste the only nice day building a deck.

We didn't find much of anything under the old deck. A piece of plastic, tree roots and a fork. I was expecting so much more.

PIC 1: The hot tub is in its final resting spot on the cement blocks. PIC 2: The base for the deck is somewhat laid out. PIC 3: tools are put away for the night improperly.

Pic 3 shows my biggest gardening pet peeve. A rake left the wrong way. I have warned and warned about the danger of rake stepping, but until a certain husband takes one in the face, he will never learn.

perhaps this video can enlighten those who require the knowledge about rake danger.
