Deck Revamp I

A post with multiple parts.....perhaps this is a first or it has been a long time since the last....how exciting for the reader!

A few years ago I revamped the backyard on what I felt was large scale. I added in a ton of new gardens, pathways, the gazebo went up, and it looked awesome.....or so I thought. Fast forward to the present and it has all be ripped out. A few reasons inspired this new revamp. First, the pool was taken out last fall.....old, falling apart, not able to fix any more, and not interested in the maintenance anymore. Secondly, the deck was old, falling apart, able to fix, but without the pool it looked rather silly as it was the shape of the missing pool. Thirdly, the hot tub was not happy. A happy hot tub is a huge priority at this house, so we had to get it off the rotten deck and on to safer ground. It was also rotated for better garden feng shui.

This is a pic from last summer...for idea layout. Gardens are not in or visible. The deck was 2 tier with pool deck. Very square!

There is also a fire pit way in the back...

The new deck will incorporate the fire pit into the design.

STAY TUNED......Next post will show the destruction of the whole yard. We are currently down to a dirt yard.
