Last fall saw the tear down of the old pool. It was kind of awesome to see the actual yard from the deck. This was one of the reasons we decided to not replace the pool....it was nice to see our yard.
This spring the project continued. I spent the winter imagining wonderful plans for the new deck. I then came to the reality that we live in a world where you have to pay for things, so the new deck had to have a budget. Good bye fantasy deck and all your magical glory. Hello real deck with some magical glory.
I decided to add in angles, curves and one structure for the hammock and connect in the fire pit and yard. This would have to be enough to make it feel brand new.
The pool platform leaves, the hot tub is moved, the boards are ripped out and we are left with dirt and old wood. (writting 'old wood' made me laugh)
Had I helped much or had one, this for sure would have ruined a manicure.
I had also wondered what sorts of treasures we would find under this deck. It has gone through a few home owners and decades.....stay tuned for what was brought to light.
