an old man, a toilet seat and kijiji

What do those 3 things have in common.....I combined them all and found a toilet seat soul mate in the parking lot of a tim horton's. My days are filled with adventure I tell ya.

I will take you back a few days and get you caught up.....
Our toilet seat needs to be replaced. It has needed to be replaced for years, but more so recently. Canadian Tire had a sweet sale on one that I approved of, so we bought it. Did you know there a lot of choices and shapes? Me either. We bought the wrong shape. We brought it home, opened it up and realized that we own a rounded toilet and bought an egg shaped seat. This was not going to work.....well optimistic sends it back to the store for an exchange or refund. Sad me finds out that Canadian Tire will not take a return on toilet seats for hygienic reasons even if you pinky swear no butts touched it. What's a girl to do? I posted an ad on kijiji to sell it. I made the same promise in the ad that no butts had ever touched this seat and gave a brief 3 version of this long winded story....bet you wish you found the ad before the blog! I had one offer and then a re-nag due to shape issues on their end and then a second offer. I took the second offer and set a meeting spot in the parking lot of tim's. One cannot be too sure of the clientele when you are buying and selling toilet parts from an online forum. Well, didn't I meet the sweetest old man. He shook my hand so firmly and told me is grand adventures of needing a new toilet seat as well. He just moved into a new apartment (not new I suspect, but new for him) and it came with a cushioned toilet seat (grossest things in the world) which he mentioned were disgusting to him. This is where we clicked. I was on board with his story now! He needed a new one and thought he would try out this 'new kijiji' site. First ad he sees was mine and he just knew it was fate.

I lost 2$ on the deal as you can never sell for the purchase price, but I met a great elderly man who has great taste in toilet seats.
