geocached
I got out today and combined a few of my favorite things. I mixed my geography nerd with my jock side and they worked well together. We needed some outdoor time and a hike is the general fall back thing to do when no set plans are on the table. To mix it up we decided to try out some caches in the area. I used my jail broken phone to download a 9.99$ app for free and then downloaded some geocache locations to it. The first one we hit up was a bust. Perhaps if we spent more time there it would have proven successful, but we were in the bush, with gun shots from hunting season and no orange touques, so we bailed. We bailed in true town fashion as well. We walked back to the truck saying loudly "I am not a moose, or a bear, or a bird or anything tasty....do not shoot me". The second cache was on a trail we hike very often so it was easier to find the spot as we know it well. Unfortunately the prize was missing when we arrived. The hike was still good and we headed back to the car only slightly disappointed that there were no treasures found. Upon exiting the trail, we saw a bag on the side of it and it was the geocache prize bag. YAY!! We checked it out, took a prize and put one back in for the next person and took the bag back to its location for someone else to find. Day complete.

I've always wanted to try geocaching. Sounds like fun! I bet our GEO courses would have been that much better if they let us go on hikes to find prizes, like "A's" haha.

Sounds like fun! My ideal geocache would be where I have to say find a certain expensive purse in an expensive store, and then when I do, I get the purse!
