snow balls

I feel like things are starting to snow ball going into my last 2 weeks of work. My replacement has been hired and starts on Tuesday. I am not sure I am ready for this person, but at the same time I need the time with them to feel comfortable passing everything along. I have an intense binder of everything I could think of to pass on, but I still have more to add and this keeps me awake at night. I also wish I had broke my job into categories and then given each category a day so that I cover everything while training. I also want to be realistic that I have put a lot of information to read and review into the binder as well as 50+ e-mails to pass on and that requires time as well. When I started, I had no time to read, review, get my head around things or to go through e-mails, so I felt lost for almost 6 months in some areas. I also had no training. I am hoping to make this easy for the new person so they are comfortable filling my giant shoes. Who knew a 7.5 shoe could be so enormous?

My last kick at the can will be Tuesday morning. My replacement is in HR orientation until 11:30, so I have 3 hours to wrap up the few things that have been keeping me awake. I then have 2 days of 'real' training with her as we are out in the community working on 2 events. The end of the week will be the paper side of things.

good luck training the newbie, and remember, once mat leave starts, don't think or stress about work.
