when you have sold your soul to the devil, it is time to make deals with God

I was thinking that it getting closer to the time that I might hear a happy yes or a sad no from the University about getting into Education. This made me think a little more about the future, most specifically mine. I was thinking about where I would want to do my practise teaching and what options would be avaliable to me. This is when I came to the great idea about incorporating a deal with God into my master plan. Since I am Catholic, I would have the option of teaching with that school board. This was a possible extra door open to me. I was then informed that this great open door does come with catches. Being Catholic was not enough, you had to be practising. That I am not! So my deal to God was this: you get me into education for this fall, and I give you sundays. I am what he could consider a lost sheep, BUT I am willing to return to the flock ( meet the priest, sit front row, participate in a bake sale). Since religon really isn't my thing - I do need the push or the motivation. This could work well for both of us. If God truley does know all our thoughts it was best that I put the deal out on the table and not try to scam him, with fake churchiness. We will see if this works!

Catholicism is funny. You can keep practising it, but you don't necessarily get better. Ha-ha. I'm too corny.

I soooooooooooo hope that you get in and hear the yes that you deserve! I'll keep all of my fingers and toes crossed for you!

I too was raised Catholic and I played that card, i.e went to church, talked to the priest, got a letter, etc. But then I got hired by the public, hence I didn't need to 'pretend' anymore. Whew!

But I understand where you are coming from. I wish you all the best.

That is so bogus that you have to be a practicing Catholic. That is one thing that needs to change in our country. No more Catholic Board of ed.

Best of luck either way though.

Thats seems off that Catholic schools want you to be practising. I went to a catholic all-girls school (lol, no, it's not like in porn movies) and we had teachers of all religious backgrounds. I guess it depends on the area of the country or how strict the school is.

I hope you get in!!! Fingers crossed!!!

I am catholic too, and to me, sometimes I think it's unfair for catholic schools to only hire practising catholics. They are probably missing out on hiring great teachers. Especially you , i've seen you in action!

But really, are they going to monitor what you do each Sunday?

I really hope you get the acceptance, you really deserve it, i'd want you to teach my kids for sure, and especially for you to teach them how to play the recorder!!!!! HAHAHA
