So while I was in TO it started to snow. Not alot of snow, but a little bit. This small amount of snow fell on the bare ground, as there was no snow for it to build on. The people on the street were so amazed at how much was coming down - really in awe. This awe made me wish I could bring them all to my place and have them use their awe to shovel the driveway.
Some quotes from our local paper, from Wed. 22nd - "Many North Bay residents had little room left to put 23 centimetres of snow that started falling Monday afternoon." "Already this month, 132 cm of snow has fallen on the city." "341.8 cm of snow has fallen so far this winter"
So before the people of Toronto get to excited that they have had snow, check out the following pics of what snow is.
I am not complaining though! This is nice compared to where I was living last year - at least there are vehicles other than snowmobiles to get around.
This is the sidewalk in front of my place, this area has also been cleared down to the pavement with snow removal equipment twice already

This is the hill behind my place - that the puppies play on.

The hill across the street.

So much snow! Don't worry, I wasn't foolish enough to think we were getting a lot of snow on Friday night... I just thought it was pretty.
I remember one year when I was about 4 and we got hit with a lot of snow in Stratford. There was a pile of it as high as the fence beside my house. I could just walk across the fence. I had loads of fun doing that.
I wish we had lots of snow here. Now before you get any ideas of wanting me to go up there to shovel, I mean that I want it to feel like Winter here. Like when I was a kid and could jump in snow banks and then become stuck because they were so high.
Maybe I should plan a trip up there before all the snow is gone.

i'm originally from Thunder Bay, which people often confuse with North Bay. I remember a lot of winters where the snow would be piled up so high by the sidewalk that when you were walking down it, it was like being in a tunnel.
I thought we had a lot of snow yesterday but you win. This is a lot!
I complain way too much when it snows (for I am responsible for shovelling the driveway and the sidewalk; and washing the dishes, and vacuuming, and doing the laundry. I need a butler.)
I miss all that snow. The folks here in Toronto are priceless when it snows, it is like they have never seen it before. Too funny.

Man, I wish our snow removal system was that good! It takes forever for them to clear snow here! FOREVER. I am always snowed in because they clean the streets and not the sidewalks. BAH. But it sure is pretty :)
