when white doesn't go with everything!

It snowed last night - I had heard it was coming, and I continued to live in my little world of denial - but it still came, and enough that the scrapper was needed to go out this morning....what a cruel and evil world we live in.....Nature woman taunts us with spring - evil woman. White was not what I wanted this morning.

I was out hunting again today for yet more employment opportunities. dropped off another 10 resumes. I may be setting world records. I must remind myself to go back to some of these places in about a months time and check out the competition. I know they all say that once you get a job all the offers come rolling in....I just need to find that one crappy job, and await the rolling.

On a positive note I did meet a wonderful person today while on my employment adventure. I was at one of the local government buildings who are hiring students, and held the elevator door for this lady , who was quite greatful - she had her hands full. We rode to the same floor, where I held the door open again for her, and then we parted. This was nothing abnormal for me, as I am generally pleasant to others ( I said generally). I handed in the resumes and spoke with the woman hiring and then headed back to the elevator again. As I am waiting for it to arrive, the woman from before comes over and waits as well....we were waiting for the same ride down. Once in the elevator she asks if I am there applying for summer employment, and I told her I was. She mentioned she was hired the same way a few years back. She gives me some advice for a possible interview, from her experience there, and says she was happy to meet someone nice who is applying. I assume this can be a positive thing, as she works in the building and has the ability to offer her great opinion of me to others...or this is how I imagined the rest of her day going. Ohhh the days it pays to be nice to people.

Back to the last of the grind. 36hrs left. If all goes well, and this crazy year of ulsers and stress and lack of sleep pays off and I actually get accepted to BEd with these marks, then this exam means I am offically done my degree, and I am done geography forever.........but if by some sick twist of fate they decide to torture me another year longer, then more next year. not more degree just more.

Sometimes those are the ways you have to find jobs, by meeting someone on the "inside" by chance, and making a good impression.

BEd? Is that a type of Education degree or something else completely? :)

It's all about those little connections when getting jobs. I know it sounds funny, but it's true. YOu may be the most qualified person out there, but it's not necessarily what's on your resume that people remember....it's your smile as you walk in the door, how you treat others or your hand shake.

Good luck on the job hunt...I'm sure you'll get something great! :)

Good luck on the final 36 as well!

I can't believe that you guys got snow last night!

I hope that you survive the final 36 hrs. Tomorrow night you will be happy 'cuz your exams are done and I will be happy 'cuz p/t interviews are done.

Good luck again with the job search. I recomment a gov't student job. I had one when I was in university and then the following summer I got a 3 month short term contract from them where I got paid a decent wage.
