My running group came to a close last night. Now I just have to keep up the momentum on my own. I had been training with this group for just over 2 months and met my goal last night. It was a less than ideal night for a final run, as it was lightly raining and dark, but the night none the less. I finished the 3.2 mile or 5 K run!!! It took me just over a 1/2 hour to complete and at a fairly decent pace. The sore body today says it was all worth it. I also finished first in my group, but that was only slightly important.
the snowball effect of school is kicking my ass, so blogs are infrequent. face book seems to rule my procrastination time.
i have been keeping a small book near me these days. I write things that inspire me or make me think in a different light. my intentions are to share these words on here, most of which are not my own, and unreferenced, but still in need of sharing.
I have been working on my principles and rules for life. The things that govern how I live my day to day. I toiled over Pierre Elliott Trudeau's thought that Reason comes before Passion. This idea has been a long standing debate for me. I came down to the need to have more passion than reason. Reason is important and it has its place, but I am a cake eater, and I want the passion. So, for now, I have a principle of life to have Passion before Reason.
Another thought that has been rolling around in my head is the idea of fish. I may have spoke to this just previously, but it is still in there so it will happen again if I did. A lad in my class was discussing a story about an encounter he had with a small child. He had asked her to draw a fish on a piece of paper. She did as asked and drew the best fish she could. When she finished, she showed the fish to the lad. He was taken back by the great drawing, but noted she had drawn a star, not a fish. She quickly corrected him and said it was a starfish. In all his great wisdom, he forgot starfish even existed. I love this true tale. Keeps me privileged to the idea of out of the box thinking and non conformity.
